Proper disinfection is essential for protecting the health of environments and people, marking an important cultural shift, according to the Ancarani family, who foresee a future where sensitive facilities prioritize hygiene and care.

A Cultural Shift in Disinfection Awareness

"A cultural shift awaits us," says Elisabetta Ancarani, Technical Director of Lombarda H, a company specializing in high-tech, environmentally friendly disinfectants and detergents. “The focus on disinfection, highlighted by the COVID-19 crisis, will become a priority that allows no room for approximation. This is true in high-risk environments like hospitals and healthcare facilities, as well as in sectors like wellness and beauty, clinics, schools, and community spaces.”

Founded by Antonio Ancarani in the 1980s, Lombarda H began with medical logistics and product distribution, evolving into a prominent disinfectant manufacturer. In the late 1990s, the company launched its own production facility in Abbiategrasso, Milan, registering numerous products. “Today, we have around 50 registered products, including Medical-Surgical Aids and Medical Devices, from antiseptic gels to disinfectants for pre-surgical and social settings, equipment, and environments,” says Elisabetta. “We are also one of the few producers of Decs Puro electrolytic chlorinator, with sodium hypochlorite as an effective agent against coronavirus.”

Extensive Reach and Dual Brands

Operating across Italy, Lombarda H markets under two brands: LH, primarily for hospitals, and Amedics, aimed at the professional sector. “Our focus on the professional market includes comprehensive training programs for our distributors to ensure they provide clients with scientific and technical advice and post-sale support,” explains Elisabetta.

Public Awareness Campaigns

Lombarda H has launched an awareness campaign on its website to guide people through the COVID-19 emergency, offering accurate information on effective solutions against the virus in healthcare and workplaces. Demand for specific products has surged by 200%, driven by increased demand for ingredients like alcohol, which has affected raw material availability and prices.

Meeting Varied Sector Needs

Lombarda H supplies a diverse range of sectors, from hospitals to dental, veterinary, aesthetic, podiatry, elder care, industrial, and agri-food industries. To meet varied needs, the company continues to invest in R&D and product registration, ensuring true bactericidal and virucidal efficacy. "For the end user, the difference must be clear—a disinfectant, unlike a sanitizer, has properties that only specific tests can verify,” emphasizes Elisabetta, reinforcing Lombarda H’s commitment to effectiveness and safety.
